Mobile Plus

The Mobile Plus Conference

  • How can mobile phone applications promote inclusive growth in an era of climate change?
  • What is relevant content, how can it be generated and provided?
  • How is information designed and communicated?
  • How can the impact be measured and the service improved?

The Mobile Plus conference addresses technology and information design challenges for bringing relevant content via mobile phone to people who would otherwise have no access to such information.
It will investigate what formats of communication are appropriate and understandable in order to empower people, facilitate exchange and promote inclusive growth.

Technology, design and development experts, content and infrastructure providers from around the world share their best-practice examples, experiences and ideas for mobile phone applications that drive development and change in education, healthcare and rural prosperity.

We will get together in the phantastic setting of theĀ M S Swaminathan Research Foundation campus in Chennai, India. The Foundation is a pioneer for mobile information services that support sustainable rural development in India. They are co-organisers together with the International Institute for Information Design and the Industrial Design Centre of the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.
